Design to Help

In this research, I gain a lot of useful information that could guide me clearly in my final project. My research proved the term “ Design to Help”, design to help the needs like what actually emergency shelter or temporary shelter did, and present the humanity for love. This is what I wanted to archive from this research, to prove that humanity for love and the purpose of design, how design could help. My research also taught me to think critically, observe and learn from needs, interacts between design and humanity. Design shouldn’t be just how it looks like and feels like, design is how is works, as what Steve Jobs said.

 

The overall aim of my research is to encourage designers to design with love, remind them the purpose of design and also to deliver the message of design to help.

 

Due to the chosen site is based on Nottingham, and Nottingham virtually doesn’t affected by natural disaster, so there is no point to place an emergency shelter here, so I got an idea to transfer the concept of emergency shelter into a low cost or backpackers hostel, which also have the same purpose and function that could present the idea of  design to help and also to present the humanity for love.
